I am proud to serve as Coordinator, with the Professional Association for Equine Facilitated Wellness. I attended Explorations training in 2018 as a learning experience about the association in general and to gain more knowledge about the certification process. I am grateful for the connections I have nurtured here as a whole. I have a passion for horses, owned, cared for, and rode them as a teen. Although I was away from horses for many years, they have always had a special place in my heart and I’ve continued to gravitate toward them. After having my passion reignited about five years ago during a workshop, I have done my own explorations and work on self through equine therapy, coaching and workshops, and I volunteer at a local therapeutic equestrian centre.  I have a strong pull toward inner healing and energy. In 2015 I attended Integrated Energy Therapy training, basic and intermediate levels, as well as same for working with pets. In 2019 I completed Usui Reiki Level One and plan to continue with Level Two once offered in 2021. I have been working with these modalities to support the healing of horses, restoring positive energy and balance. In October 2020, I attended a beginner animal communication workshop; it was not only interesting as a whole, it has proven to be a positive tool alongside my energy work.     I have a background in accounting and administration. I am mom to two amazing boys, and very happy in 2020 to be a first-time grandma. I have a general love of animals and the beauty of nature.  I believe in continuous learning, personal growth, and professional development. I practice Equine Facilitated Wellness, Counselling and Psychotherapy at Highlands Gate Wellness, on our 85 acre farm in Lanark Highlands, Ontario, Canada.  It is an honor to serve on the board of Pro-EFW with this dedicated group of people who are furthering the accountability, education and development of the field of Equine Facilitated Wellness.  As one of the founding members I have seen the growth of the association over the years and look forward to expanding our membership and community of like-minded people who honour our equines as sentient beings.
